PII and Sensitive Data Scanning

Personally Identifiable Information (PII) is data that can be used to identify an individual. UTC employees are responsible for protecting any PII they access. store, or transmit., The Information Security Office uses Identity Finder to scan employee computers for PII including credit card numbers and social security numbers. If a department regularly handles PII, they should periodically scan for stored information that may not be protected.
