How to connect to a Lab Stats computer from a Windows Computer

  1. If you’re going to be connecting to the lab computer from off campus, make sure you have installed the VPN client (GlobalProtect) and connected the VPN to campus.
  1. Go to UTC’s Remote Computer Access web page and sign in with your UTC ID and password.

  1. Select the lab you wish to use on the left side of the web page.
     
  2. Select Connect by the computer at the top of the list.

  1. Select Download.

  1. Make sure "Open with" and "Remote Desktop Connection (default)" are selected on the Opening window.
     
  2. Select OK.

  1. Select Connect on the Remote Desktop Connection window.

  1. Select "More choices" on the Windows Security window.

  1. Select "Use a different account".

  1. Enter "cha\abc123" (replace abc123 with your UTCID) in the "User name" field.
     
  2. Enter your UTC password in the "Password" field.
     
  3. Select OK.

  1. Select Yes on the Remote Desktop Connection window.
     
  2. You should connect and be logged in to the lab computer.
     
  3. If the connection fails, verify your username and password, and try the connection again.
     
  4. After 15 minutes of inactivity with the remote computer, you will automatically be logged out.
