This article is a walkthrough of how to resolve the following error message on Office for macOS: "Your account abc123@utc.edu doesn’t allow editing on this Mac"
Directions

Close all Office applications that are open.

If your Mac is managed by UTC:

Open the Self Service application

Run 'Fix Office License'

Otherwise, you will need to download the license removal application.
- Go to https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=849815

Install the application and go through setup as shown below.

- Launch Microsoft Word and sign in using your Microsoft account.


- After signing in you can validate your licensing by going to “About Microsoft Word” in Word.
