Research Institute: First Time Login Instructions

Information on how to log in for the first time using your Research Institute account into a workstation.

The HPC and all related HPC resources use your UTC ID and password for access.  However, users still need to be added before they can log in.

Getting Access

If you don't have access to the HPC already, please open a ticket with the details mentioned below and we will get you added as soon as we can.

• Full name (first name and last name)
• UTC ID (6-character alphanumeric ID assigned by the university)
• Email address
• Name of Faculty or Staff member you are collaborating with

You can open a ticket by emailing it-help@utc.edu or by submitting a ticket through the IT Client Portal.

Logging in through SSH

Please check out how to connect your device to the UTC VPN if you are trying to connect from outside campus.

Follow the following steps to log in through SSH:

1. Connect to the cluster (epyc.simcenter.utc.edu) via SSH:

ssh <your_utc_id>@epyc.simcenter.utc.edu

2. Enter your password
3. If entered correctly, you should now be connected.
