Welcome to UTC! As you get ready to start your journey here, we want to make sure you have the tools you need to stay connected and organized. To provide a more consistent and reliable student experience across campuses, UTC is transitioning from Google to Microsoft 365 as the university’s primary platform for email and productivity tools. This provides you with access to collaborate with UT students, faculty and staff and utilize the Microsoft Office suite for your coursework.
How to Access My Microsoft Account
- Locate your Microsoft username in the "Account Info" widget in your MyMocsNet account. It will typically be your NetID@mocs.utc.edu. If you have applied or attended another UT campus your Microsoft username may be different. To request changes to the username to update it to mocs.utc.edu, visit utc.edu/upn.
- Access the Microsoft Outlook app at outlook.office.com to sign in with your Microsoft username and UT password. Outlook is always available to download in the app store for your mobile device.

When will students get access to the Microsoft services?
All faculty, staff, and students have access to Microsoft services. Go to https://office.com to get started. You can save files to your OneDrive, use the online web apps to create new documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, create Teams for collaboration, create Surveys to collect information, and more.

What happens to any prior emails in my UTC Google account?
Any prior emails on your UTC Gmail account will be migrated over to Outlook by the Information Technology department during March 2026. Once we have migrated your prior email messages, we will let you know.
What happens to any files stored on my UTC Google account?
UTC IT will be following up with you over the next few weeks about the next steps to move files stored in Drive over to Microsoft OneDrive before we discontinue access to the UTC Google account.
