FAQ Current Students: Transitioning from Google

Body

This article applies to students who have been attending UTC before Fall 2026.

The University is transitioning to Microsoft as the primary university-wide platform for collaboration and productivity tools, thereby reducing reliance on Google services on campus. This change aims to provide a consistent experience, enhance security and privacy, and manage costs more effectively.

How to Access My Microsoft Account

  1.  Locate your Microsoft username in the "Account Info" widget in your MyMocsNet account. It will typically be your NetID@mocs.utc.edu. If you have applied to or attended another UT campus, your Microsoft username may be different. To request changes to the username to update it to mocs.utc.edu, visit utc.edu/upn and select "I only want my O365 username to match my UTC account".
  2. Access the Microsoft Outlook app at outlook.office.com to sign in with your Microsoft username and UT password. Outlook is always available to download in the app store for your mobile device.

Login instructions for Microsoft can also be located here.
