On January 6, 2025, DASH will replace IRIS in the UT system to house and streamline various business processes on campus.
This article aims to provide instructions for employees on how to enter timecards and request changes to submitted timecards in DASH. It covers the following topics:
Getting Started
Employees can view and enter their timecards from the Time and Absences page in DASH. Follow the instructions below to navigate to the Time and Absences page:
- Navigate to the DASH home screen.
- Click on the Me tab.
- Under the Apps section, select the Time and Absences tile.
How to Enter Time on Timecards
- Follow the instructions in the "Getting Started" section above to navigate to the Time and Absences page. Once on that page, click on the Add Time Card tile to add a new timecard.
- Click on the Date field and select a date. The pay period will automatically populate based on the selected date.
- Click the Add button at the top right corner.
- Make sure the information in the Position field is correct. If you need to make any changes, double-click on the field and select from the dropdown list.
- Double-click in the Payroll Time Type field to activate the dropdown list. Select the correct payroll time type.
- Enter the number of worked hours for each date in the same row.
- Repeat steps 4-6 to add additional payroll time types and hours in new rows.
- If you need to make additional changes to this timecard in the future, click Save. If all work hours have been entered for this timecard and you want to submit it for approval, click Submit. Note: The timecard can no longer be edited once it is submitted.
How to View Existing Timecards
- Follow the instructions in the "Getting Started" section above to navigate to the Time and Absences page. Once on that page, click on the Existing Timecard tile.
- Click on Time Period to specify a date range. You can view all the timecards entered or submitted within the specified date range.
How to Request Changes to a Submitted Timecard
- Follow the instructions in the "How to View Existing Timecards" section above to navigate to the Existing Time Cards page and find the timecard you want to request changes to.
- Click on the Period Start Date for that timecard.
- Click on the Three Dots Icon on the left side above the time table. Then select Request Change from the dropdown menu.
- Select the Date you need to request timecard changes. Then select a Reason for Change (optional).
- If you need to add a missing punch, click the Add button. Enter the details and click Save.
- If you need to request changes to an existing punch, click on the Pencil Icon on the right side of that punch. Edit the details and click Save.
- After making all changes for a selected date, click Submit to send it for approval.
