Starting January 6, 2025, DASH has replaced IRIS in the UT system to house and streamline various business processes on campus.
This article aims to provide instructions for managers on how to complete the different tasks for the annual performance review in DASH. It covers the following topics:

Getting Started
- Navigate to the DASH homescreen.
- Click on the My Team tab.

- Click the Performance tile.

- Select the appropriate review cycle from the Review Period dropdown list. A list of employees should appear.

- Use the Search Person box or scroll down the list to find the employee you want to review. You should be able to see the current task for the evaluation.

How to Add Manager Evaluation
- Follow the instructions in the “Getting Started” section to find the performance evaluation. The current task should be on Manager Evaluation of Employees.
- Click on the blue hyperlink of the evaluation (e.g. 2024 Staff Annual Performance Evaluation) for that employee to open the evaluation. You should see the employee’s overall rating and comments.

- If you wish to return the evaluation to the employee for them to make additional adjustments, click Return to Worker.

- To add manager evaluation for the employee, scroll down to the Evaluation Topics section and click Evaluate. Enter the rating and comments for each section. The rating structure for the performance review is listed below. Once completed, click Save and Close.
- Distinguished Performance and Role Model Status: Clearly and consistently demonstrates extraordinary and exceptional accomplishment in all major areas of responsibility. Performed above and beyond expectations under exceptional circumstances during the review period. Others rarely equal performance of this caliber in similar roles. (Requires specific examples)
- Superior/Highly Effective Performance: Performance is continually and consistently superior and regularly goes beyond what is expected. An exceptional contributor whose performance exceeds expectations on a consistent and sustainable basis.
- Fully Successful/Effective Performance: Performance consistently meets the critical requirements of the position, continually achieves preset goals and performs with distinction. Incumbent performance is reliable and consistent in adding value to the work unit.
- Partially Successful Performance/Needs Improvement: Performance does not consistently meet or occasionally falls below what is required of the position; improvement in specific areas is required. (Requires specific examples)
- Unsuccessful/Unacceptable Performance: Performance fails to meet minimum expectations for this role, and immediate and sustained improvement is required. (Requires specific examples)


- Go to the Overall Summary section and click Edit to add manager comments. Once completed, click Save.


- Under Evaluation Topics, the Questionnaire sections show any Participant Feedback requested by you or your employee.

- The Attachment section can be used to provide additional documents.

- The Additional Information section contains questions that are required for the manager to review. Click the down arrow button to expand the section. Then click Edit to make changes. Once completed, click Save.



- When all sections are completed, click Submit.

- You will return the employee list. Here, you will need to select Submit again to pass the performance review to your manager for final review and approval.

- Once your manager has approved the performance review, you will receive a notification in DASH and can proceed to the next task – Share Performance Document.
How to Share Performance Document
Once your manager has approved the Performance Review, you will receive a notification in DASH and can proceed to share the Performance Document with the employee.
- Follow the instructions in the “Getting Started” section to find the performance evaluation. The current task should be on Manager Shares Performance Document.
- Click on the blue hyperlink of the evaluation (e.g. 2024 Staff Annual Performance Evaluation) for that employee to open the evaluation.

- In the Information box, click Share and Release to allow employee access to the document.

- Add comments as needed and click Submit to complete the action.

- The next step will be meeting with your employee and discussing the document, goals, and other related items. After the meeting, you can return to DASH and complete the task – Manager Confirm Review Meeting Held.
How to Confirm Review Meeting Held
- Follow the instructions in the “Getting Started” section to find the performance evaluation. The current task should be on Manager Confirms Review Meeting Held.
- Click on the blue hyperlink of the evaluation (e.g. 2024 Staff Annual Performance Evaluation) for that employee to open the evaluation.

- In the Information box, click Indicate Meeting Held. Enter the date and meeting notes. Click Submit to complete the action.


Note: After the manager confirms the review meeting, the employee should also login to DASH and confirm that the meeting has been held.
