On January 6, 2025, DASH will replace IRIS in the UT system to house and streamline various business processes on campus.
This article aims to provide instructions for HR on how to add a new person (nonworker, contingent worker, pending worker) in DASH.
DASH uses different terminology from IRIS to identify worker categories and employee types. Please review the following DASH terminology to understand which type of worker you are adding:
- Nonworker: retirees, emeritus, county employees, visiting researchers, ORNL employees, THEC employees, external search committee members, and unpaid interns
- Contingent worker: consultants, freelancers, interns, third-party custodians, UT Medical Center, state auditors, ROTC, joint faculty appointment/PI, UT Promise, TN State University employees, and Program for Minors volunteers
For more details on DASH terminology related to core HR and compensation, please visit the HCM Crossover page.
