DASH Step Guide: Enter and Manage Leave of Absences

On January 6, 2025, DASH will replace IRIS in the UT system to house and streamline various business processes on campus.

This article aims to provide instructions for HR on how to enter and manage leave of absence for employees in DASH. Use the links below for quick navigation:

Getting Started

  1. Navigate to the DASH home screen.
  2. Click on the My Client Groups tab.

  1. Under the Quick Actions menu on the left, scroll down to the bottom and click Show More.

  1. Under the Employment section, click Change Assignment.

  1. Click on the Search for a Person bar at the top. Select Advanced Search.

 

  1. Enter the employee’s name in the Person Name field or enter the employee’s person number in the Person Number field. Then click on the magnifying glass icon next to it to conduct the search.

  1. Select the employee that you are making changes for by clicking his/her name.

  1. For the What info do you want to manage? question, select all boxes. Then click Continue in the right upper corner of the page.

 

Enter Leave of Absence for Employees

  1. Follow the instructions in the "Getting Started' section above to navigate to the Change Assignment page.
  2. Under the When and Why section, click the When does the assignment change start? field and select the effective date for change. Select the appropriate leave of absence type from the What’s the way to change the assignment? dropdown menu. Then select the appropriate reason for change in the Why are you changing the assignment? field. Click Continue.

  1. Confirm the values under the Assignment section. Click Continue.

  1. Click Continue for the Additional Assignment Info section.

  1. Under the Payroll Details section, click on the Time Card Required for Assignment field and select the appropriate value. This value needs to be the same as the value in the Time Card Required for Payroll field above it. Then click Continue.

  1. Enter any necessary information in the following sections as needed and click Continue.

  1. Scroll back to the top of the page and click Submit.

 

Return Employees from Leave of Absence

  1. Follow the instructions in the "Getting Started" section to navigate to the Change Assignment page.
  2. Under the When and Why section, click on the When does the assignment change start? field and select the effective date for change. Click on the What’s the way to change the assignment? field and select Return from Leave of Absence from the dropdown menu. Then select Return from LOA in the Why are you changing the assignment? field. Click Continue.

  1. Confirm or modify the values under the Assignment section. Click Continue.

  1. Click Continue for the Additional Assignment Info section.

  1. Under the Payroll Details section, click on the Time Card Required for Assignment field and select the appropriate value. This value needs to be the same as the value in the Time Card Required for Payroll field above it. Confirm the other information in this section. Then click Continue.

  1. Enter any necessary information in the following sections as needed and click Continue.

  1. Scroll back to the top of the page and click Submit.
