Starting January 6, 2025, DASH has replaced IRIS in the UT system to house and streamline various business processes on campus.
This article aims to provide instructions for employees on how to complete self-evaluation for the annual performance evaluation in DASH. It covers the following topics:
Getting Started
- Navigate to the DASH homescreen.
- Click the Me tab.

- Click the Career and Performance tile.

- Click the Performance tile.

How to Complete Self-Evaluation
- Follow the instructions in the "Getting Started" section to navigate to the Performance page.
- On the Performance page, select the correct Business Title and Review Period from the dropdown lists.

- Click on the blue hyperlink of the evaluation (e.g. 2024 Staff Annual Performance Evaluation) to view the current task.

- On the Employee Self-Evaluation page, click Evaluate to edit and enter your self-evaluation.

- Under Rate and Comment, select a rating and enter comments for each section. The new rating structure for key performance elements is listed below. Once completed, click Save and Close.
- Distinguished Performance and Role Model Status: Clearly and consistently demonstrates extraordinary and exceptional accomplishment in all major areas of responsibility. Performed above and beyond expectations under exceptional circumstances during the review period. Others rarely equal performance of this caliber in similar roles. (Requires specific examples)
- Superior/Highly Effective Performance; Performance is continually and consistently superior and regularly goes beyond what is expected. An exceptional contributor whose performance exceeds expectations on a consistent and sustainable basis.
- Fully Successful/Effective Performance: Performance consistently meets the critical requirements of the position, continually achieves preset goals, and performs with distinction. Incumbent performance is reliable and consistent in adding value to the work unit.
- Partially Successful Performance/Needs Improvement: Performance does not consistently meet or occasionally falls below what is required of the position; improvement in specific areas is required. (Requires specific examples)
- Unsuccessful/Unacceptable Performance: Performance fails to meet minimum expectations for this role, and immediate and sustained improvement is required. (Requires specific examples)

- Scroll down to the Overall Summary section and click Edit. Enter employee comments. Once completed, click Save.


- Click on Show Additional Info to view check-ins or performance rating descriptions.

- The Attachment section can be used to add additional documents related to the performance review.

- When all sections are completed, click Submit to submit your self-evaluation.

- Your manager will now complete their portion of the performance review. Once their part is completed, you will receive a notification in DASH and can proceed with the next steps.
How to Review Performance Documents
Once your manager has completed their portion of the annual performance review, you will receive a notification in DASH. Follow the steps below to review your performance documents.
- Click on the notification icon in DASH.

- Click on the link for the notification "2024 Staff annual performance Evaluation is Ready for Review". You will see any comments added to the notification.

- Scroll to the bottom of the notification and select Go to performance document.

- You will see the Overall Summary and comments added by your manager. Click the View button in the Evaluation Topics section to view the rating and comments for each key element.

Your manager will meet with you to discuss the Performance Review, goals, and related topics. You will receive a notice after the meeting to acknowledge the meeting has been held.
