Restore Access to Duo

The following Instructions in this article only apply if you have the same phone number as your prior device.

This article will instruct you on how to reactive or restore your duo access on a new phone, assuming the new device has the same phone number as the previous device.

Special Notes:

  1. You will need to know your NetID. If you are unable to sign in, check to see if your NetID is the same as your UTC ID:
  1. You will need a device capable of browsing the Internet (tablet or computer) to enroll your phone
  2. If you do not have a mobile device capable of installing Duo, you can request a hardware token here.
  3. Check to see if your phone is supported by duo here:

Directions:

  1. Visit https://ds.tennessee.edu/passwords/duorestore.asp
  2. Log in with your NetID and password
  3. Select one of options in the green boxes to log in:
    1. Call Me: Call the cell phone number registered to your account
    2. Enter a Passcode: Select ‘Text me new codes’ to receive a text message with temporary codes to the phone number registered to your account
    3. Send Me a Push: If you have access to your old device, you can send a Duo Push to it as usual
  4. Select ‘Device Options’ for your phone and choose ‘Reactivate Duo Mobile’ then follow the setup instructions
