Connect Your Apple iOS Device to the UTC Network

If you are being asked to re-register your device every 24-48 hours or every time you connect to the UTC Wifi, please click here for instructions on turning off the randomized mac address for your device.

Directions

  1. Open ‘Settings’
     
  2. Select ‘Wi-Fi’
     
  3. Connect to the ‘UTC’ network
     
  4. Turn off 'Private Wifi Address' and 'Limit IP Address Tracking', Click Here for assistance
     
  5. Open Safari to: https://portal.utc.edu/registration/
     
  6. Select 'Yes' if you are a UTC student, faculty, staff, or affiliate
     
  7. Select 'Computer/Phone'
     
  8. Under the ‘MAC Address’ field, enter the device's MAC address (ex. AA:11:A1:FF:99:F9)
  • The UTC network may automatically detect your device’s MAC address

       8. Under the ‘UTC ID’ field enter your UTC ID

       9. Under the ‘Password’ field, enter your UTC password

      10. Select ‘Register’

 

Troubleshooting

“I do not know my MAC address”

  1. Open ‘Settings’
     
  2. Select 'General'
     
  3. Select 'About'
     
  4. Locate ‘Wi-Fi MAC Address’

 

“I am unable to access the UTC portal page”

  1. Open ‘Settings’
     
  2. Select ‘Cellular’
     
  3. Turn ‘Cellular Data’ off
     
  4. Attempt the directions again

 

“I am unable to access the network after updating iOS”

  1. Open ‘Settings’
     
  2. Select 'Wifi'
     
  3. Select the blue 'i' next to the UTC or UTC-Secure network
     
  4. Turn 'Use Private Address' off
     
  5. Rejoin the network

 

“I am being prompted to install the FortiNAC agent”

  1. Open ‘Settings’
     
  2. Select ‘Safari’
     
  3. Turn ‘Request Desktop Site’ off
     
  4. Refresh the webpage and attempt the directions again
