Evaluate Applicants and Managing the Applicant Pool

Click Here to view a video overview of this guide.

In Faculty Search, all of the applications to a given position appear listed on one page. We call this the Applicant List. The list of applications for a position is often quite long. We provide you with a number of useful features and organizational tools to help you sort and manage your work on the Applications List (detailed in the next lesson.) Faculty Search users can read and annotate application materials using our built-in reader. Materials from multiple applicants can be loaded into the reader, allowing users to scroll through and evaluate applications without leaving the browser window. Users can also make annotations on application materials, download the annotations they make, and if enabled, can leave comments, add tags, and rate applicants from the reader.

Managing the Applicant Pool

Tools for Managing Applicants

Faculty Search offers many different tools to help you manage the applicant pool after you've created a search. Some of these features include:

  • Filtering applications
  • Applying tags to individual or bulk applications
  • Assigning or changing statuses to individual or bulk applications
  • Email applicants
  • Adding internal documents to applications
  • Requesting letters of recommendations on behalf of an applicant
  • Adding materials on behalf of an applicant
  • Archiving applications that are no longer being considered for the position

Evaluator Tools

Users with the Evaluator role are able to read applications in the document reader and add annotations. They can filter applications, change the columns in the table, and save their views of the applicant list, and if enabled, they can apply tags, download applications and post comments. Evaluators cannot apply position or application statuses or disposition codes, email or archive applicants.
