Zoom Etiquette

As a Zoom participant, you can do the following to assist in making the class or meeting as effective as possible.

  • Mute your microphone if you are not talking.  This helps with background noise reduction for all those attending.

  • Use the Everyone chat feature for questions, responses, and engagement with others without disturbing or interrupting the speaker.

  • Practice sharing your screen in case you are called on to share slides or your work. Pause share when you are finished. Your professor or the meeting facilitator has ultimate control of what is shared on the screen so use discretion with what you choose to share.

  • Use the buttons on the Participant panel to raise your hand, respond to poll questions, or otherwise engage fully in the session.
