Directions for Answering and Making Calls

                Placing a call to an on-campus extension:

·         Lift the handset and dial the 4-digit extension

·         Press the Speaker button and dial the 4-digit extension

Placing a call to an off-campus extension:

·         Lift the handset and dial “9” before the number

·         Press the Speaker button and dial the number

 

                Answering a call:

·         Lift the handset

·         Press the Speaker button

·         Press the [Answer] softkey on your display

In-Call Functions

            Putting a call on hold:

·         Hold will appear on the bottom of the display once you are on an active call

·         Press the [Hold] softkey

o   The line button flashes red and the hold icon appears on your display

Retrieving a held call:

·         The [Resume] softkey will replace the [Hold] on the display

·         Press the [Resume] softkey to return to the call

Transferring a call:

·         Transfer will appear on the bottom of the display once you are on an active call

·         During a call, press the [Transfer] softkey on the bottom of the display

o   The call is automatically put on hold

·         Dial the extension that you wish to transfer the call to

·         Press the [Complete] softkey to complete the transfer

o   To stop the transfer and return to the caller, press the [Cancel] softkey or press the line button of the original call

Using the Call Directory

                Adding a new contact:

·         Press the Contacts button

·         Press the [New] softkey

·         Enter the name using the dial pad

o   Pressing the “2” on your dial pad displays the letter “A”. Pressing the “2” key again replaces the “A” with a “B” and so on. If the character is on the same key, pause before pressing the key again.

o   Use the left and right arrow keys and the [Bksp] softkey to delete characters

o   Press the [More] softkey and then the [Abc] softkey to change to lower case

·         Use the up and down arrows to move between fields

·         Press the [Save] softkey

Editing a contact:

·         Press the Contacts button

·         Select the contact entry you wish to edit using the up and down arrows

·         Press the [More] softkey and then the [Edit] softkey

·         Choose the field you want to make changes to using the up and down arrows

·         After making changes press the [Save] softkey

Deleting a contact:

·         Press the Contacts button

·         Select the contact you wish to delete with the up and down arrows

·         Press the [More] softkey and then the [Delete] softkey

·         Press the [Delete] softkey again to confirm

The column on the right shows the exact key press to use for each step, but the system is very good in prompting and explaining each step. If the “message” button is pressed and you are not connected to the system (usually indicated by a rapid two-tone alarm) then please submit a footprints ticket.
