Outlook Online Meetings

All meetings now created in Outlook are automatically set to be online. This feature is currently available to users of Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business on desktop, web, mobile and Mac. In a future update Microsoft will add third-party online meeting add-ins.

This setting applies to meetings with at least one attendee other than the organizer, and meetings with a duration less than 24 hours.

If you don’t want all meetings to be online by default you will need to disable this feature by following the directions below.

Directions to Disable Feature for A Meeting (Outlook Web Access, iOS, and Android)

  1. In Outlook, schedule a meeting with other people as you normally would.
The Teams meeting toggle may turn on when you add an attendee.
  2. Select the Teams meeting toggle button to turn it off, if applicable. This disables the default feature only for the specific meeting you are creating. Note that you cannot disable this after you send the invitation.
