Connect Your Apple Computer to the UTC-Secure Network

Note: Please be sure to connect your device to the UTC wireless network and register it before trying to connect to UTC Secure. Click here to learn how to register your device.

  • Connect to the ‘UTC’ network
     
  • Open your preferred web browser to: https://cloudpath.netops.utc.edu/
  • Download the UTC-Secure profile for your version of macOS.                                                                   

 

Tip: To check your macOS version, click the Apple logo in the top-left corner of your screen, then select About This Mac. Once you know your version, download the appropriate profile.

 

  • Open the downloaded profile by double-clicking: UTC-Secure.mobileconfig

  • You should receive the following message: "Profile Downloaded Review the profile in System Settings if you want to install it."
  • Navigate to System Settings → Device Management. You should see UTC-Secure with the status "Profile not installed. Double-click to review."

  • Double-click UTC-Secure. Follow the prompts to install the profile. Depending on your macOS version, you may be prompted to:

    Review the profile
    Select Install
    Enter your Mac administrator password or use Touch ID to authorize the installation
    Confirm installation

  • Once installation is complete join UTC-Secure. The connection should complete automatically using the installed profile.

 

Troubleshooting

If your Mac keeps asking you to register your device repeatedly when connecting to UTC-Secure:

  1. Open System SettingsWi-Fi.
  2. Click the Details button next to UTC-Secure.
  3. Verify the following settings:
    • Private Wi-Fi Address: Off
    • Limit IP Address Tracking: On
  4. Click OK and try reconnecting to UTC-Secure.
