How to remove Office license on macOS

This article is the solution for the following error message on Office for macOS: "Your account doesn’t allow editing on this Mac"

  1. Close all Office applications that are open.
  2. If your Mac is managed by UTC, you should have the Self Service application.
    1. You can run “Fix Office License” from there.
  3. Else, download the license removal application.
  4. Install the application.
  5. Launch Microsoft Word and sign in using your Microsoft account.
  6. After signing in you can validate your licensing by going to “About Microsoft Word” in Word.
