Connect Your Windows Computer to the UTC VPN

The UTC VPN requires two-factor authentication with Duo. If you have never set up Duo before, please visit
Setting up Two-Factor Authentication (Duo)
to get started.
The UTC VPN along with two-factor authentication is the only approved method of remote access to the University local network and connected resources. Other methods may be blocked.
All UTC faculty, staff, and students have access to the VPN. By default only UTC's publicly available services and the Internet are accessible. If you require access to privileged services, you must request an
account elevation
.
Directions (First time)
Open your preferred web browser to:
https://netaccess.utc.edu/vpn/
Download the appropriate software version (either 32-bit or 64-bit)
NOTE
:
If you are using a UTC-issued machine, it will likely be 64-bit as that is the currently supported version by UTC IT).
Once the download has completed, install the client
After installation, the GlobalProtect client will appear in the system tray
Open the GlobalProtect client by clicking on the system tray icon
In the field that asks for the portal address, enter
vpn.utc.edu
Click 'Connect'
When prompted for username and password, enter your UTCID and password
NOTE
: If you receive a Netops "Stale Request" error restart your computer or wait a few minutes and try again.
After successful login, you will be presented with Duo two-factor authentication which by default sends a push notification to your Duo mobile app.
NOTE:
If you would like to use a passcode click "Other Options". From there you can select "Duo Mobile Passcode" or "Bypass code".
After completing the two-factor authentication, you will be connected to the VPN.
Directions (Subsequent connections)
Open the GlobalProtect client by clicking on the system tray icon
Click 'Connect'
When prompted for username and password, enter your UTCID and password
After successful login, you will be presented with Duo two-factor authentication which by default sends a push notification to your Duo mobile app.
NOTE:

After completing the two-factor authentication, you will be connected to the VPN.
Directions (Disconnect)
Open the GlobalProtect client by clicking on the system tray icon
Click 'Disconnect'
